Women's Business Development Center
The Women’s Business Development Center (WBDC) is dedicated to supporting and accelerating business development and growth, targeting women and serving all diverse business owners, in order to strengthen their participation in, and impact on, the economy. Maura Mitchell, the new Director of Entrepreneurial Services, will explain the WBDC’s resources and she will facilitate a SWOT Analysis exercise.
What makes a SWOT Analysis especially powerful is that, with a little thought, it can assist you discover opportunities that you would not otherwise have recognized. And by understanding your weaknesses, you can manage threats that might deter your growth.
About Maura Mitchell:
Maura Mitchell is the Director of Entrepreneurial Services at the Women’s Business Development Center. She has a passion for partnering with entrepreneurs to develop their business plans and assists them with raising capital in order to grow their businesses. With a long history of helping small businesses and nonprofits with strategy, financial, and legal issues, Maura provides insight on what it takes for her clients to thrive in today’s evolving environment. She has helped others define their dreams and create pathways to success. Most importantly, Maura is a consummate relationship-builder and cares deeply about her clients’ progress.
Additionally, Maura has immersed herself in public interest nonprofit work, collaborating on pro bono financial strategy projects for Taproot Foundation and pro bono legal projects for Pro Bono Network.
Maura holds a B.A. in mathematics from Saint Mary’s College, an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and a J.D. from DePaul University College of Law.
