Whether it’s due to guilt trips or sarcasm, oversharing with too much backstory, or believing that a wish will be understood as an ask, we are often confounded by the lack of positive results from our communications. Bringing awareness to the importance of word choice, tone and controlling our stories all go a long way to getting the outcomes we desire: be that a promotion, an overseas assignment or a simply a different project.
